Dust Pilgrim follows the road east through the remains of the ancient world, filming the entire run-up.
Season One is in Spain: an off-road course, a Bronze Age well, a gorge on the Trans Euro Trail, the oldest standing stones in Europe. From there it widens to Portugal and then east.
The audience is adventure motorcycling, overland travel and archaeology, skewing thirty-five and up, European and North American, and unusually patient. These are people who watch twenty-minute episodes to the end.
I am a working filmmaker and drone pilot, so the production standard is the one you would expect from a crew, delivered by one person on a bike.
Four ways
this works.
Gear and equipment
Riding kit, luggage, navigation, camera and audio. Used hard for months, shown honestly, and reviewed after the trip as well as before it.
The machine
Parts, tyres, suspension, and workshop support for a 1992 Honda that has to survive fourteen thousand kilometres.
Media and production
Drone, lens and grading partnerships. I shoot professionally, so the footage is usable well beyond the channel.
Logistics and support
Insurance, shipping, satellite communication, border and carnet expertise. The least visible help, and often the most valuable.
I won't say a product is good if it isn't, and I won't hide it when something fails on the road. That is the only reason a recommendation from this channel is worth anything, and it is not negotiable. If that is a problem, we are not a fit and no hard feelings.
